THE ARTIST:
Robert Kelsey, PAI has exhibited widely in all the major annual exhibitions
such as RGI, RSW, ROI and PAI and has regular successful one man exhibitions
in London. Most of his work is oil on canvas.
Over the last few years
Robert Kelsey has established a reputation for his lively and fluent style
of painting. He often focusses on his favourite subject, the wide,
lonely beach landscapes of the Western Isles. Alongside Scottish paintings
are landscapes from Italy , Cornwall and Spain as well as richly coloured
still lifes. The intensity of colour in these continental works and
still lifes complement the more subtle tones of the Scottish beaches.
He has served as an artist member on the councils of the Glasgow Art Club and the
Paisley Art Institute, and has recently been awarded a diploma from the Paisley
Art Institute

TRAINING:
1966-1970 Glasgow School of Art
Studied Painting under David Donalson, Alexander Goudie and James Robertson.
