Ron Amir

THE ARTIST:
The paradox of man's loneliness in our ages, the age of the internet, technology and its advances, is that which concerns Ron: man losing his identity in spite of the many identities he is labelled with.

Ron's figures are almost all hunted by horror and nightmares. In his drawings he extracts from them humanity's essence, its value and perversions.

His line is caricaturist, sharp and sarcastic and satirical. He critically confronts humanity and society's sins. Many of his drawings and etchings burn mercilessly, simultaneously inspiring sympathy for the disadvantaged lives amongst his characters.

The softness of the charcoal and ink brush-stroke Ron uses in his drawings, in contrast with the harshness of the etching needle and stinging bite of acid in the copper plate, allow for a rich repertoire of figures, themes and languages of the drawings.

Ron is pleased to accept commissions.
